  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience as a senior IT Operations Engineer or similar role.
  • Experience with system monitoring tools, network management, and server administration in a Linux environment.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Ansible for automation and configuration management.
  • Strong knowledge of managing on-premise Linux infrastructure.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Proficiency in Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Experience with Git for version control.
  • Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior IT Operations Engineer to join our team at Kühne+Nagel in Hamburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management and maintenance of our Linux-based IT infrastructure, both on-premise and in the cloud, with a strong focus on automation and system performance. This role involves supporting our warehouse management system, monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance system reliability and performance.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Automation and Configuration Management:
  • Develop and implement advanced automation scripts and tools using Ansible.
  • Maintain and improve infrastructure as code practices for our Linux environment.
  • Optimize and automate routine tasks to improve operational efficiency.
  • On-Premise and Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  • Manage and configure on-premise Linux servers, storage solutions, and network devices.
  • Oversee IT infrastructure for cloud to ensure seamless integration and performance.
  • Ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security of both on-premise and remote systems.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance:
  • Monitor Linux-based IT infrastructure using Grafana.
  • Ensure systems are running efficiently and securely.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management:
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Ensure smooth integration and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enhance CI/CD workflows.
  • Version Control and Collaboration:
  • Use Git for version control and collaboration.
  • Ensure proper documentation and management of code repositories.
  • Facilitate efficient code reviews and collaboration among team members.
  • Troubleshooting and Support:
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide high-level technical support to internal teams and clients, particularly for the warehouse management system.
  • Document incidents, problems, and resolution steps.
  • Collaboration and Documentation:
  • Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, processes, and procedures.
