DESCRIPTION:

Are you ready to grow your career in Insurance?
Cover-More Group helps people travel safely across the globe every day. We are there at every step of a traveller’s journey, to keep them safe and help them out if something goes wrong. We are committed to providing reliable, fast, flexible and bespoke services for our customers as well as the many well-known brands we partner with, such as travel agencies, airlines, banks and major sporting clubs!
In this role, you will oversee and optimise supplier sourcing and management activities within the IT Department of Cover-More, ensuring efficient procurement processes and strong supplier relationships to support the department’s strategic objectives.
So, what’s the job?
You’ll work with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and requirements. This will include Business, Legal, Finance, and IT teams.
You’ll be guiding stakeholders to adhere to established IT procurement practices and policies.
You’ll manage the lifecycle of software and subscription renewals prior to expiry against the IT budget.
You’ll use your influencing skills within reason to reach solutions, rather than only responding to command and control.
You’ll provide supply market and sourcing advice and recommendations.
You’ll compose and customize RFX documents based on existing templates to enable selected suppliers to bid on projects or jobs.
You’ll manage the supplier bidding and evaluation process with stakeholders.
You’ll negotiate and review basic terms of agreements with vendors.
You’ll manage suppliers according to the company’s supplier management framework.
You’ll run supplier governance meetings for suppliers identified as critical.
You’ll identify high impact cost reduction opportunities where appropriate.
You’ll resolve operational contractual issues such as invoice vs contract commitments.
You’ll build and monitor spend reports as required against key vendors.
You’ll have flexibility to support the team in procurement administration tasks.
And what are we looking for?
You’ll have 8-10 years of procurement experience in a corporate environment – Procurement, Finance, or IT team experience preferred. At least 4-5 years of specific IT Procurement experience, particularly in software deals.
You’ll have a business degree – including in business, economics, finance, law, or related fields.
You’ll have additional CIPSA training or qualifications, which will be favorably regarded.
You’ll have good communication skills, including a good command of spoken and written English and active listening skills.
You’ll have good Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
You’ll have flexibility to assist team members outside the stated scope of work when required.
You’ll have a willingness to take on advice and adapt when directed.
You’ll have experience in maintaining positive working relationships across a diverse stakeholder base.
You’ll have effective time management and organizational skills.
You’ll have comfort with collaborating with teammates in Australia, India, and EMEA regions across different time zones when required.
