Backend Requirements:

• You develop Java services for our next-generation control center solutions
• You bring several years of experience with Java technologies, or similar, and the design of software architectures as well as with different backend frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ)
• You have already gained experience with SQL and relational Database Models (MariaDB or similar)
• You ensure high product stability and product quality
• You actively participate in planning, implementation, and continuous improvement
• You work in a cross-functional team in an agile environment
• You are experienced in contributing architectural decisions

As a Senior Java Developer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. As a Senior Java developer, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the development of the next-generation control center solutions – applications for operation centers of blue light services (ambulance, police, fire brigade). The main functionalities are e.g. reporting of incidents, alerts, notifications, search of vehicles or citizens, etc. Developing software in the technical scope of Java (Spring) with different databases, providing an API and Stomp connections for multiple single-page applications in Angular.
The assigned developers will be actively engaged in the development of our latest product, eOCS>COM. eOCS>COM serves as the communication-centric iteration within the eOCS Suite, primarily built on Java Spring services. The fundamental functionalities of eOCS encompass user and session management, along with comprehensive data handling. For interaction with external entities, eOCS relies on communication gateways and interface services integrated with our established product, IDDS UCiP.
Therefore, the output of this project and every coherent implementation shall be a fully-fledged communication solution for users in control centers who must be able to efficiently react in emergency cases.

Responsibilities

• Write highly testable, automatable and performant code over the whole SDLC using high coding standards and software best practices
• Develop product, deliver features and updates according to the product roadmap
• Develop and review feature design documents and provide inputs/update to specifications for the solution
• Participate in the team activities according to the methodology – daily meetings, planning, retrospectives etc)
• Сoach/supervise middle/junior engineers by demand of the project

• Use of best practices and patterns during application design and implementation
• Hands-on experience with monolith, microservice, and serverless architectural styles

Software Development:

• In-depth proficiency level in Java, implementing applications using defensive programming
• Successful cases in developing web applications using advanced framework features and industry standard conventions
• Practical experience in writing and performance tuning of complex SQL

Quality Assurance:

• In-depth proficiency level in JUnit, Mockito
• Previous participation in constant quality improvement on the project: conducting code reviews, setting up quality metrics, and monitoring

Software Deployment:

• Hands-on experience with application deployment patterns and tools
• Practical experience in infrastructure configuration using popular cloud providers

Desirable

• Experience in configuring application security aspects
• Practical experience in application performance optimization
