POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a Software Developer specializing in Oracle Database and Web Applications, you will be instrumental in translating detailed designs into fully functional software solutions that support the IRS’s operations, user work requests (UWRs), and legislatively mandated requirements. This role involves developing, updating, and maintaining both front-end and back-end web applications, as well as standalone batch applications. Your work will directly contribute to the successful execution of operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks, and integration with platforms like ServiceNow, ensuring compliance with IRS and legislative mandates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience:
• At least 10 years of Software development experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in using Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) application(s)
• Experience in information system design, including application programming on large- scale Database Management Software (DBMS) and the development of complex software to satisfy
  design objectives.

• Detailed Specification Preparation: Develop comprehensive and precise specifications for software programs, ensuring they meet the project’s technical and functional requirements.
• Software Development: Translate detailed designs into effective computer software, updating and refining code for both front-end and back-end web applications as well as standalone batch applications.
• Oracle Database Management: Develop and update code related to Oracle Database, ensuring robust data management, retrieval, and storage solutions that support web and batch applications.
• Application Maintenance: Support the ongoing execution of operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks, ensuring that existing applications remain efficient, secure, and up-to-date with current standards.
• Compliance and Legislative Adherence: Ensure all software updates and new developments comply with IRS requirements and are in line with legislatively mandated changes.
• Integration with ServiceNow: Develop and maintain integrations with ServiceNow and other platforms as required, ensuring seamless operation across different systems and services.
• Testing and Debugging: Thoroughly test and debug applications to ensure they function correctly and efficiently, addressing any issues that arise during development or maintenance phases.
• Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all programs developed, including user guides and technical manuals, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, systems analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that all software solutions meet the desired objectives and are delivered on time.
