Our Retail Team are responsible for all aspects of William Hill’s in store technology, with a particular focus on integrating the online experience for our customers into our 1400+ retail shops in the UK.. Your role is to keep our colleagues and customers connected, updating our existing platform and systems while ensuring our customers have cutting edge technology at their fingertips.
We’re adopting AWS at scale, and at the same time releasing high volume system upgrades into around 1400 shops across the UK. So, from the Cloud to tangible technology on the ground, we’re proud to say that we’re covering it all.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, ideally React/Node, and working in Scrum/Kanban frameworks
  • Broad knowledge of web software development and best engineering practices (SOLID)
  • Experience in multi-team environments with multiple dependencies
  • Desirable: Knowledge of AWS, Java, Docker, REST API, Linux, Bash, Python, Puppet, New Relic, Terraform, and automated testing using frameworks like TestCafe

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure delivery of value to colleagues and customers while maintaining best practices and coding standards.
  • Implement and document solutions in collaboration with Developers, Testers, and Solution Architects.
  • Maintain software integrity and manage technical debt effectively with Site Reliability teams.
  • Turn guardrails into best practices and standards, ensuring adherence.
  • Collaborate on non-technical and technical requirements with Product Owners and Delivery Managers.
  • Engage in pair programming, code reviews, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure tests align with solutions and complement development tests.
  • Support CI & release pipeline setup for all applications and organize & execute releases.
