Description:
WearCheck Canada Inc is an analytical laboratory specializing in analysis of all types of lubricating and hydraulic oils. There is a current opening for a Senior Laboratory Technician, who will join an established and effective team that typically processes several hundred samples each day.
KNOWLEDGE / REQUIREMENTS
- Laboratory technician or chemistry diploma.
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in an ISO 17025 environment.
- Willingness to become fluent in all testing and methods performed by the laboratory.
- Well organized, time-driven, and able to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Quick learner, inquisitive, strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Good team player also able to effectively work independently.
Responsibilities:
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
This role is associated with keeping the laboratory running through two prime responsibilities:
(1) Perform maintenance, calibration and repair of all instrumentation and equipment.
- A hands-on approach is essential, with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
(2) Provide training and support to laboratory technicians conducting oil analysis with ASTM methods.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to convey knowledge to others are key.
Other duties include:
- Helping with the receipt and sorting of incoming sample.
- Preparation of reagents and standards.
- Routine analysis of oil samples following ASTM methods.
- Use of LIMS and other computer systems.
- Record keeping according to GLP requirements.
- Promoting safe working practices and good laboratory housekeeping.
- Maintain focus on Quality and meeting customer expectations.
- Other duties as assigned.
