Responsibilities:

  • Independently advise, draft documents and assist in negotiation of transactions in compliance with laws, policies and requirements.
  • Ensure external legal resources are properly and efficiently selected and used.
  • Provide insight to Business Lending business partners on, and guide implementation of, external advice.
  • Ensure outputs produced by external counsel comply with our policies and requirements.
  • Partner with the Business Lending line of business in maintaining awareness of relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other lawyers in Westpac’s wider Legal & Secretariat function and other stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes
