JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone who is passionate about cloud engineering and is looking to join us on our journey in building tools and platforms which can improve developer productivity and help accelerate cloud adoption and application modernization at the firm.
As a Senior Lead of Software Engineering (Cloud Platforms) at JPMorgan Chase, you will provide technical direction and leadership to an agile team to enhance, build, and deliver tools and platform products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Leverage your advanced technical capabilities and interpersonal skills to collaborate with partners and stakeholders across the organization to drive best-in-class outcomes across various cloud tooling and platform development efforts for development teams within the firm.
The Cloud Engineering organization is focused on accelerating cloud adoption, enhancing developer experience and accelerating modernization of applications by building and enhancing tools and platforms to increase efficiency, reduce operational overhead and improve developer productivity. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities for improvement, architect and develop solutions and partner with our stakeholders, partners and customers to drive implementation and adoption.
You will be hands on developing tools and platforms aimed at improving the developer experience for thousands of developers within our organization. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists spread across the globe, who are focused on building solutions to provide paved paths for our application developers on their cloud migration journey.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • A desire to lead and develop a team of software engineers and help them achieve their potential
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platform providers AWS/Azure/GCP (AWS preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Advanced knowledge of containerization and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes/EKS)
  • Proficiency with developing microservices (Java or Python)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Experience architecting cloud applications for scalability and high availability
  • Experience with event-driven applications (Apache Kafka)
  • Experience designing & building telemetry & logging capabilities for cloud platforms
  • Certifications in target areas (Cloud/Kubernetes/IaC etc)
