Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Lead Controls Engineer to establish and lead a dedicated team of control engineers. This role will be instrumental in supporting all controls requirements across our business operations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of our cutting-edge fusion energy systems.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Partner with Engineering Director on status of designs, installations, and operations
  • Collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, and external suppliers to integrate control architectural development effectively
  • Provide controls engineering support to the wider team, addressing technical queries and resolving issues as required
  • Support FAT/SAT testing either on-site or at supplier facilities to validate system functionality and performance
  • Define control architecture for laser-based systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
  • Develop user interface control systems in accordance with local standards, best practices, and stakeholder requirements
  • Integrate external vendor equipment for seamless data communication and system interoperability
  • Support the Controls Engineering team in defining and implementing engineering standards, processes, and procedures
  • Manage controls system requirements to meet stakeholder needs and project objectives
  • Maintain and operate control systems across different Focused Energy facilities, ensuring uptime, reliability, and optimal performance
  • Manage budgets for individual project builds, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or performance
