Responsibilities:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Credit Risk Officer who will lead credit policy efforts and provide credit policy guidance. Leader will participate in front line projects by representing Home Lending Originations Credit Risk through oversite of credit related activities and credit policy initiatives. This position uses subject matter knowledge to advise front line management regarding credit performance, emerging risks, and business conformity with risk appetite, credit culture, and policies. This role will collaborate with independent risk management (IRM) risk pod partners comprised of Business Aligned Compliance Officer (BACO) and Operational Risk Business Oversight (ORBO) to document all applicable risks.
In this role, you will:
- Successful candidates will possess credit policy experience, strong analytic capacity, excellent project management skills, a collaborative approach to issue resolution and excellent writing skills.
- This position applies subject matter knowledge to serve as a consultant and resource to corporate and/or front line management regarding credit performance, potential or emerging risks, and business conformity with risk appetite, credit culture, and policies.
- Candidate must demonstrate a track record of end to end ownership of projects driving timely, thorough results. Successful candidate will have excellent technical writing and oral communication skills to write and present policies, presentations, and executive level communications.
- Position requires innovative thinking to challenge existing process and policy. Experience creating synergies with collaborative business partnerships to drive efficient results which support broader goal of simplifying policy and operations.
- Experience working on efforts related to regulatory issues and corrective actions is preferred.
- Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence credit risk policies and strategies.
- Lead large projects related to credit policy or strategy.
- Experience in mortgage lending credit/collateral policy, credit risk, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 7+ years of experience in similar role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with consumer lending new account and portfolio management underwriting credit decisions and policies.
- Proven leadership experience and skills.
