Description:
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced ward based medicines management pharmacy technician to join the critical care team. This is a new and exciting post in critical care, and one that can showcase the skills and contributions an experienced pharmacy technician.
Along with ward based responsibilities, your focus will be helping to establish and lead a small team of medicines management technicians across three hospital sites, working closely with the site lead pharmacists. This opportunity will allow you to make improvements and shape the pharmacy service we already provide to critical care.
The position can be challenging so applicants must possess robust leadership skills, be adept communicators, organized and be able to support the development of their team. The ideal candidate will have had experience working on the wards in a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in a clinical setting, undertaking drug histories, medication requests, ensuring stock control and management in communication with pharmacists and the MDT, as well as participation in audits.
This post holder will oversee the medicines management programme across the different intensive care units, liaising closely with both the pharmacy staff and the critical care staff. The post holder will have line management responsibilities for MMPT (Medicines Management Pharmacy technicians) and ATO staff (assistant technical officer).
The post holder will also support the continuing drive to improve medicines use and safety within the trust.
