As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Data Platforms team in Chief Data & Analytics Office, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications. Your deep knowledge of Java, continuous delivery, and testing will help our team meet the requirements of our diverse user base. You will work on intellectually challenging projects ranging from meta-programming, domain specific language and interpreter design to delivery of services that integrate with internal and external cloud platforms.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient advanced experience
  • Extensive experience in the Java ecosystem and frameworks like Spring.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Practical cloud native experience

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience of Scala and functional programming
  • Line management or mentorship of junior engineers
  • Domain Specific Language design and interpretation
  • Knowledge of domain driven design
  • Proficient with SQL/No-SQL databases

Responsibilities:

  • Leads small teams in the engineering of cutting-edge solutions in the areas of metadata, data entitlements, data model authoring and storage, and data in place/data in motion
  • Collaborates with our users, product management, architecture and stakeholders in our sister teams to ensure we build the right solutions
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
