Join Aprio’s Learning & Development team and you will help clients maximize their opportunities. Aprio, LLP is a progressive, fast-growing firm looking for a Senior Learning & Development Specialist - Assurance to join their dynamic team.
Aprio’s Senior Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering innovative learning solutions that enhance our Assurance team members’ skills and knowledge to support the firm’s strategic objectives. This dynamic role involves conducting training needs assessments, collaborating with stakeholders, and applying instructional design models like ADDIE to develop engaging and interactive learning experiences. The senior instructional designer produces a range of instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led sessions, blended learning solutions, and in-person conferences, all of which adhere to NASBA’s CPE requirements. The team member works with significant autonomy, coordinating the entire design process, including meetings with subject matter experts and external vendors, and uses learning technologies, including LCvista (LMS).
The Senior Learning and Development Specialist reports directly to the Director of Assurance Learning. Occasional in-person meetings and business travel are required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years experience applying the ADDIE model and other learning theories to develop, design, and deploy Assurance-specific training in a professional services environment. (required)
  • 4+ years experience using training software and tracking learning content in a learning management system (LMS), preferably LCvista. (required)
  • 4+ years experience evaluating training program effectiveness through metrics, feedback, and assessments, making continuous improvements based on insights. (required)
  • 4+ years experience of demonstrated organization, time management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate on a diverse team and manage multiple projects simultaneously. (required)
  • 4+ years experience leveraging technology to create diverse training materials, including guides, presentations, videos, and live recordings, fostering a dynamic learning environment. (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Communications, or Human Resources. (required)
  • Master’s Certification in Instructional Design (preferred)
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Education, Instructional Design, Psychology, Communications, or Human Resources (preferred)
  • 3+ years experience in an Assurance client service role. (preferred)
  • Certified Public Accountant (preferred)
  • Instructional Design Certificate (preferred)
    The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess learning needs, measure training effectiveness, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Produce training to ensure programs are educational, engaging, technically sound, and user-friendly, leading to a successful learning experience for team members.
  • Prepare program evaluation reports using feedback and performance data to measure training program impact and improve future development initiatives.
  • Prepare and develop training content and materials such as presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and instructional guides, ensuring alignment with branding standards and NASBA requirements for CPE credits.
  • Systematically assess, design, develop, implement, and evaluate training programs based on learners’ needs and objectives following the ADDIE model.
  • Conduct thorough learning needs analyses with SMEs and stakeholders to inform training and course development.
  • Review training content and materials such as presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and instructional guides, ensuring alignment with branding standards and NASBA requirements for CPE credits.
  • Develop high-quality and branded deliverables by proofreading materials and projects with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills when working with stakeholders, training audiences of various sizes, committees, leaders, and vendors.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among all stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy in to successfully execute projects.
  • Leverage software, such as LCvista, proofreading tools, and MS Office Suite, to develop training, reports, and improve workflow.
  • Use Excel to generate and analyze pivot tables and charts to track and showcase training metrics, progress, and results to recommend refinements to the L&D strategies, programs, curriculum, and firm processes.
