Description:

Are you looking for a fulfilling and varied role? Do you want to develop your career in community learning disability nursing?
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Community Nurse has arisen within our friendly and supportive Waveney Community team for adults with learning disabilities.
Applications are invited from Registered Learning Disability Nurses or Mental Health Nurses. You might be an experienced Band 6 or an experienced Band 5 looking to progress your career. Experience working within a community team would be desirable, but not essential. The most important thing is that you are passionate about working with individuals with learning disabilities.
As a team we continually strive to develop the services we offer, to ensure they’re high quality and evidence based. To support our aims, we are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated nurse to join our dynamic multi- disciplinary service. You’ll be joining an innovative team of nurses and allied health professionals and working collaboratively with multiple agencies and other professional clinicians.
Our service covers the Waveney geographical area of Suffolk and you’ll be responsible for managing a caseload from our base in Oulton near Lowestoft.
If you’re able to think and work creatively with individuals and their carers – we want to hear from you!
The ideal candidate should possess excellent and varied communication skills, enjoy working as part of a team, and working closely with colleagues from a range of disciplines. You will be able to work independently, carry out comprehensive assessments and plan, implement and evaluate delivery of nursing interventions as part of the holistic approach.
You will also be able to demonstrate that you are able to apply your nursing skills to a wide range of situations, as you’ll be working with a range of adults with a learning disability living within the community.
We have a culture of continued learning, working as a close LD specialist pathway and place an emphasis on the importance of clinical supervision and continued professional development; we offer a variety of opportunities in a supportive, friendly and stimulating working environment. We’ll support and encourage you to develop specialist experience and expertise as appropriate – whether you wish to access local university courses or additional training programmes or be part of QI projects within the service. Here is your opportunity!
Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing experiences and learning from each other. In addition to ongoing training and development opportunities, we are committed to providing an environment in which you can thrive.
Why work for us? We have challenges as a Trust, but we have ambitious aspirations, are pushing ahead with exciting transformation work and we need dedicated individuals to support us on our journey. We have strong, established nursing networks coupled with an exceptional leadership team who will ensure you are truly cared for and cared about.
Why Norfolk and Suffolk? The people here are warm and welcoming, you’ll never be far from the beautiful coastline or Broads National Park. We’re an hour and a half away from London and have an international airport in Norwich too. Our villages, towns and cities are packed full of history, independent cafes, shops and theatres. We have excellent shopping, eating out, top ranking schooling and affordable house prices too.
All applicants will be registered on the NMC Register.
Please note, you must have a full and valid driving licence due to the community element of the role and the rural geographical area that the Waveney Team cover.
The team is based in Oulton, near Lowestoft and there will be an expectation of travel. Due to the nature of community health services, the successful candidate will have a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Responsibilities:

NHS pension
a comprehensive in house & external training programmes
starting annual leave of 27 days per annum increasing to 33 days pa based on length of service (plus paid bank holidays)
staff physio service
NHS discounts and many more.
Here at NSFT we pride ourselves on being a welcoming, talented, friendly and supportive team who like nothing better than sharing their experiences and learning from each other.
NSFT is committed to lifelong learning and continuous professional development (CPD) for its entire staff. There are a variety of definitions of CPD across the professions but it is usually taken to mean learning activities which update existing skills.
