Description:
The Department of Biomedical Science and Physiology at the University of Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science.
The Department of Biomedical Science and Physiology at the University of Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science.
You will have previous teaching experience that will enable you to contribute to teaching, assessment, quality enhancement and curriculum development within the Department, and preferably programme leadership of our Biomedical Science Undergraduate awards. We welcome applications from candidates from an NHS Biomedical or Clinical Science setting or those with an active research background. You must have experience in Clinical Immunology, and desirably another blood science discipline, and will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will be able to effectively deliver the key aspects of these disciplines through lectures, seminars, and practical classes, and be committed to providing an excellent student experience.
Preferably, you will be registered with the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) or be a member of another relevant professional body. Applicants should have a first degree in a related discipline and either a Masters degree or a PhD, or be able to demonstrate significant professional practice experience. You will have a track record of research in Clinical Immunology or a related area and will engage across a range of university wide research institutes and centres.
The Department has delivered a highly successful portfolio of IBMS-accredited courses covering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes for over 30 years making a significant local impact on health outcomes and providing access to education. You will therefore have an enthusiasm for removing barriers to and widening participation in education. We have a well-established academic team, and the University provides an excellent working environment to allow you to access continued career development.
If you would like to discuss this role further please contact the Head of Department, Dr Liz O’Gara (E.OGara@wlv.ac.uk), or the Head of the School of Life Sciences, Prof Sabbir Ahmed (Sabbir.Ahmed@wlv.ac.uk).
