We are looking to appoint a translational scientist with a strong track record in antibody discovery as a Senior Lecturer or Reader, who will undertake internationally leading research in this area, contributing to LSTM’s mission.
The focus of this role will be on developing global health solutions, particularly in antibody-based biologics for diagnostics and/or therapeutics targeting emerging infectious diseases and neglected tropical diseases. You will join our highly esteemed Tropical Disease Biology department (https://www.lstmed.ac.uk/research/departments/tropical-disease-biology), which is made up of a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to translating basic science into practical solutions for patients facing global health challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply antibody discovery platforms to address diagnostic and/or therapeutic needs for emerging infectious diseases and neglected tropical diseases
  • Develop an impactful research programme in biologics that results in development of a field-leading track record and provides the platform for a world-leading expert reputation
  • Enhance the reputation, influence and profile of LSTM in biologics research as applied to low and middle-income countries
  • Develop strategically important global partnerships and collaborations
  • Take responsibility for the general teaching and learning strategy and lead on innovative curriculum design and development of teaching methodology
  • Initiate opportunities for achieving external research funding and demonstrate the ability to attract significant high prestige funding
