JOB SUMMARY
Legal Services is a highly regarded team from a mixture of Civil Service and private practice backgrounds. The team provides legal advice in respect of all ORR’s functions and on corporate matters such as IT and employment.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful applicant will be responsible for advising across ORR’s regulatory functions. We do not expect applicants to have existing expertise in all areas of ORR’s work but you must be willing to advise on a wide range of matters in relation to both our economic and safety functions. This role offers the opportunity to enjoy a varied and stimulating case load, whilst participating in shaping the policies of our organisation.
As a Senior Legal Adviser at ORR you will support the management and resilience of the legal team by working constructively with other team members and contributing to the leadership of the team and the organisation.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
We’ll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
- Legal Professional Skills - excellent legal skills, including strong analytical powers and the ability to master new areas of law quickly.
- A sound knowledge of public law principles and experience of advising in relation to some of the areas in which ORR works
