Responsibilities:
- At least 10 years PAE gained at a corporate law firm or in house (highly desirable)
- In depth knowledge of software, technology and outsourcing contractual arrangements, including IT, offshoring and property related contracts, preferably with experience acting for APRA regulated entities and familiarity with APRA standards such as CPS230
- Demonstrated knowledge of brand protection and intellectual property law, including trademark and copyright law
- Demonstrated knowledge of privacy laws (preferably also privacy laws outside Australia)A current practicing certificate in the State of practice
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient professional capable of preparing and negotiating a wide range of commercial and technology contracts. The ideal candidate will lead legal negotiations on complex and high-value outsourcing and procurement arrangements. They should demonstrate experience in liaising and building effective relationships with key business stakeholders, internal legal teams, external panel law firms and senior executives.
Excellent negotiation, contract drafting and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. The candidate should excel at simplifying complex issues, managing stakeholders collaboratively and solving problems analytically. They should be proactive, innovative, calm under pressure, able to manage multiple priorities and people focused. An excellent awareness of, or a keen interest in, software and technology, including AI will be well regarded. They should be results-focused, with an excellent ability to make decisions and drive improvements.
