The role
London (Hybrid working model, 2 days a week office based, 3 days remote)

Fantastic opportunity to secure an initial 6-month day rate contract Senior Legal Counsel with great opportunity for extension. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will have deep expertise in technology, sourcing, and a passion for complex problem-solving. As part of our evolving legal team, the Senior Legal Counsel will partner with executives to tackle high-stakes projects that align with government climate goals. This is a chance to operate at the intersection of technology, law, and sustainability in a dynamic, regulated environment.
What will you be doing?
- Being a trusted advisor to the General Counsel helping the legal function to drive the business forward.
- Responsible for managing a complex internal and external stakeholder landscape.
- Responsible for distilling complex legal issues, commercial considerations, and operational factors into concise, actionable, pragmatic, and risk-based advice taking input not just from external counsel but other key business partners such as the regulatory operations, commercial and finance teams.
- Responsible for high-level business partnering with a genuine desire to understand stakeholder problems and objectives in a complex environment.
- Lead multi-million-pound deals and provide support pre and post contract including disputes.
What are we looking for?
- Extensive experience as a Senior Legal Counsel.
- Extensive experience in sourcing and cloud transactions, SME level required with deep knowledge and experience in technology procurement.
- Extensive experience working in a complex, highly regulated environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and business partnering experience working pro-actively with empathy and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong private practice experience with experience of being in house. Must be adaptable, resilient, consultative, facilitative commercially pragmatic with great implementation skills.
- Able to thrive under pressure and enjoy working in a supportive, collegial team.
- Values the productivity and lifestyle benefits of a hybrid work environment, including spending at least two days per week at our London office in order to deepen their understanding of the business and build relationships with the team and stakeholders.
