Senior Legal Counsel

You would be working in the Corporate Debt team of the Legal Department with a primary focus on Special Operations. As a Senior Counsel and Special Operations Coordinator, you will be advising on distressed debt restructurings and coordinating the Legal Department’s approach to distressed investments across the portfolio.
Additionally, you will be providing expert legal advice on finance transactions across all debt sectors. There is a strong preference for a candidate with meaningful experience in blended finance and the ideal candidate will have the needed skillset to play a critical role in pioneering the design and rollout of blended finance structures in support of FMO’s blended finance portfolio.
You will work together with a variety of professional disciplines in deal teams and advise on the structuring and monitoring of deals. While protecting FMO’s interests, you will negotiate, manage and close these deals pragmatically, with a ‘can do’ attitude. You will be a content leader within the team and a key liaison for the Legal Department with other FMO stakeholders. You will actively participate in interdepartmental projects and help to shape our overall legal strategy. You are a true sparring partner for colleagues and management, as well as clients and external lawyers.
