As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel with 5-8 years of relevant experience, to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both law firm (cabinet) and in-house environments, with at least two years in each and demonstrated expertise in commercial and corporate transactions.

As a trusted advisor, you will handle a wide range of legal matters, including commercial agreements, corporate governance, M&A transactions and litigation management. Your ability to provide concise, clear, and actionable legal advice will be critical to success in this role. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication skills in both English and French and the ability to operate effectively in both independent and collaborative settings.

  • 15 Months contract – Maternity replacement

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, negotiating, drafting, and reviewing various agreements with both commercial and governmental counterparties, such as non-disclosure agreements, consultant agreements, licenses, sales agreements, and procurement agreements.
  • Advising internal clients on employment-related legal matters, including internal investigations, performance management, discipline, and leaves.
  • Partnering with management to support M&A transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint-ventures, and other strategic transactions.
  • Supporting transaction closings and post-closing integration activities.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to provide expert legal advice and guidance.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and updating company templates to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
  • Managing litigation and other dispute resolutions.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years in a law firm (cabinet) and 2 years in-house.
  • Broad commercial and corporate transactional experience gained in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with Canadian and Quebec law, with a focus on commercial and employment-related matters.
  • Autonomous and self-driven, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and an innovative approach to in-house legal management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to provide concise and clear legal advice.
  • Member of the Quebec Bar.
