Description:

Are you ready to dive into the world of cutting-edge video game development? Headquartered in Montreal, Behaviour Interactive is at the forefront of the gaming industry, crafting unforgettable experiences across PC, console, and mobile platforms. We’re a dynamic, independent studio of over 1200 passionate employees, with studios in Toronto (Behaviour Toronto), Rotterdam (Behaviour Rotterdam) and in the UK (Behaviour UK–North & South). Our day to day revolves around two core business focuses: Services and Original Games. Our Services team collaborates with gaming and entertainment giants like Disney, Sony, Activision, and Nintendo, delivering exceptional work-for-hire development and pioneering immersive location-based entertainment (LBE). Meanwhile, our Original Games unit pushes our creative limits, with our signature IPs, including the iconic Dead by Daylight. Join us and be a part of the future of interactive entertainment!
At Behaviour Interactive, we believe in giving everyone a fair shot. We embrace a diverse and creative environment where everyone is celebrated. We value folks of all ages, sex, ethnicity, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, civil status, disability, or any other protected characteristics as per applicable law.
Are you ready to join the Blight project, an innovative game that promises to redefine gaming standards? We are looking for a Senior Level Designer to help shape this exciting new game. In this role, you’ll use your creative and technical skills to design immersive environments, handle world-building tasks, and create terrain geometry. You’ll also balance production management, with strong communication skills, the ability to take initiative, and self-management being crucial in the early stages. You’ll be responsible for proposing the vision for the game and guiding others during onboarding. This is a unique opportunity to be at the heart of decision-making as the project takes shape.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish conventions for level sizes, boundaries, distances, paths, chokepoints, etc
  • Create grey block level layouts and place enemies, obstacles, props, rewards, and other interactive triggers as first pass level designs;
  • Playtest and refine level layouts, and embrace feedback to ensure the desired experience is met;
  • See through the evolution of your levels as they pass through other disciplines, and ensure the level design intentions are respected towards final delivery;
  • Take ownership of creative and management tasks;
  • Provide time estimates as necessary;
  • Contribute to and create design support documentation, as necessary.
