POSITION OVERVIEW
Calian is seeking a Senior Life Cycle Management Specialist to assist our client with the facilitation of their project. The skilled Life Cycle Management Specialist will support the Director Land Command Systems Program Manager (DLCSPM) Joint Weapon System Manager (WSM) for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS). This role is essential for ensuring effective life cycle management, from maintenance to upgrade and divestment, of military equipment within DND facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 48 months (4 years) of experience in the last 72 months (6 years) repairing, modifying, and overhauling aircraft or Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS)
- Minimum 48 months (4 years) of experience in the last 72 months (6 years) as a Life Cycle Management Specialist or Manager on aviation-related systems
- Minimum 48 months (4 years) of experience in the last 72 months (6 years) in creating technical documents including requirements, checklists, bulletins, reports, proposals, and equipment disposal plans
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or computer fields
- Experience in monitoring, repairing, modifying and overhauling aviation-related or Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) programs
- Experience in the redaction of technical documents including requirements, specification, checklists, bulletins, reports, proposals, equipment disposal plans
- Minimum 48 months (4 years) of experience in the last 72 months (6 years) in developing correspondence and briefings; providing advice and guidance; and making recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of higher leadership
- Previous service with a minimum substantive rank of Sergeant in the Canadian Armed Forces
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- All work must be provided on site at DND’s facilities. The work location is CFB Esquimalt, British Columbia
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some of the area and overnight travel may be expected
- You must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level

Responsibilities:
- Oversee repair and maintenance programs: monitor repair, modification, and overhaul programs, ensuring operational readiness and efficiency
- Manage field modification programs: direct and monitor the delivery of parts and kits to support field modifications
- Inventory and materials management: track and report on materials, including cataloguing activities, spare parts management, obsolescence tracking, and equipment divestment
- Documentation and reporting: prepare comprehensive technical documentation such as requirements, specifications, checklists, and reports to maintain accuracy and clarity in life cycle processes
- Provide on-site training of technicians on the Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS)
- Originate and carry on written technical correspondence between aircraft engineering officers Aircraft Engineering Officer (AEOs), Defence supply chain, units, and contractors. These include letters, memoranda, minutes of meetings, trip reports and etc
- Advise WSM and/or Contractor Staff on system problems and provides technical expertise on resolutions
- Provide technical expertise to Weapon System Manager (WSM) and/or Contractor Staff on the selection and development of systems
- Monitors/reviews UCRs, pre-installation reports, technical inspection reports, and aircraft inspection change proposals
