SENIOR LINUX ENGINEER POSITION AVAILABLE IN CAPE TOWN.

A renowned national Software Development and Web-Hosting company is looking for a “Senior Linux Engineer” to join their team on a full-time permanent basis for their offices in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Hardware / Networking fundamentals preferably in a datacenter environment (A+/ N+) or similar diploma
• 3 – 5 years’ experience desirable
• Knowledge of Hyper-V/KVM environments
• Customer support experience
• Experience in Windows and Linux server management
• Basic scripting (Bash, Powershell, Python) and cli experience
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

• Resolving premier customers technical support queries
• To provide 24/7 monitoring of company infrastructure and systems
• Analysing & troubleshooting systems
• Introducing and integrating new technologies into existing data centre environments
• Backup integrity management (Ensure availability and restorability)
• Patch management
• Adherence to security and privacy processes
• Documentation of systems and processes
• Ensure optimal system performance and optimization
• Escalations from support departments
• Inventory management, reporting any requirements and shortage to procurement team based on minimum re-order levels.
