Description:

Per Vices is looking for our first Linux system and network administrator. This position will see you build and maintain all our engineering workstations and development machines, administer our internal network and VPN, administer new users, and oversee the management and documentation of our internal IT infrastructure, including printers, UPS, switches, etc. The applicant must have prior experience administering Linux based computers and networks, and have strong verbal and written communications skills, and be capable of working independently.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in all of the following areas:

  • Experience building custom computers
  • Experience automating OS installation and user management
  • Expert knowledge of Linux administration (we use Arch Linux and Ubuntu internally)
  • 2 years experience administrating Kerberos, OpenLDAP, and NFS/Samba with IPSec infrastructure
  • Writing technical documentation, including IT audit reports and conformity

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in three or more of the following areas:

  • Administrating small to midsize networks (50-100 machines)
  • Setting up and configuring custom VLANs or Subnets
  • Configuration and use of DNSMasq
  • Configuration and use of OpenVPN
  • Configuration and use of pfSense
  • Linux Distribution package management (i.e.: creating or deploying custom rpms/archlinux packages)
  • Hosting and managing local copies of Linux Package Repositories

OPTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

The following skills are desired but not necessarily required for the position:

  • Relevant degree or certifications in IT administration related to Linux system or network administration
  • Familiarity with git version control
  • Previous experience using docker
  • Previous experience using Jenkins
  • Brief knowledge of wireless radio networks
  • Multilingual
