YOUR ROLE
This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the resolution of disputes between clients and lawyers, and the regulation of the legal profession in NSW. As a legal expert, you will play a key role in litigation, investigations, and decision-making processes, ensuring high professional standards and compliance with the law. If you are passionate about law and advocacy, this is a chance to have a direct impact on the legal community while working in a dynamic and challenging environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As part of the Office of the NSW Legal Services Commissioner (OLSC), you will provide expert legal and litigation services, including acting as an advocate in mentions and hearings, managing litigation, and assessing internal review applications. You will also investigate complaints about lawyers, draft legal decisions, and prepare complex legal documents.
You will also:
- Assess and allocate new complaints.
- Assist with legal reforms and law review initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of promotional materials, including maintaining the OLSC website.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, policies, and practice standards.
- Prepare and interpret complex legal documents such as reports, contracts, and agreements.
- Conduct administrative activities and legal research within established policies and procedures.
- Work as part of a small, collaborative team that values professionalism, integrity, and support.
