Responsibilities:
ABOUT THIS ROLE:
As a Senior Logistics Analyst (Defined-Term, 12 Months) you will be responsible for; plans, schedules, and routes inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy. Coordinates with carriers, audits freight bills, and selects or recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movements of goods and material. Maintains compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products. Conducts research on transportation methods, rates and routes. Develops programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluates past performance and cost of shipping routes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilizing analytical methods and tools to understand, predict, and control logistics operations and processes.
- Developing and implementing strategies that improve the efficiency of the supply chain
- Conducts analysis of alternate methods of transportation and programs, along with projected cost and service improvements.
- Assists in developing long-term logistics strategies for Boston Scientific.
- Responsible for analyzing current logistical capabilities and recommending future logistical strategies based on BSC’s future needs.
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities within the logistics chain
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize logistics processes
- Reviews, coordinates and writes freight vendor contracts for legal review and approval to establish a list of well-suited freight vendors.
- Performs analysis, identifies root cause, and recommends corrective action utilizing transportation carrier and related information.
- Preparing reports and presenting findings to management
- Collects data through needs surveys and carriers’ service history and analyzes it to identify efficiencies and inefficiencies to develop cost-reduction plans.
- Collects shipping data from the computer systems and log sheets in order to compile the monthly Freight Cost Analysis report for management’s review.
