About this opportunity:
This position will be accountable for effective delivery and coordination of all platform logistics and services activities including the availability of materials and services required for platform operation. Criticality of decision making is paramount for this position as timely decisions ensure smooth operational performance. The position will have multiple interfaces and will be required to make high risk, high dollar decisions daily to ensure effective operation of the facility. These decisions will be impacted by multiple factors including operational requirements, weather conditions and availability of key logistics resources including supply vessels and helicopters.
These positions will initially be in St. John’s, possibly spending some time in Ingleside, TX, USA, then begin a regular rotation offshore NL. They would be 40 hours/week initially in St. John’s, then finally 3 weeks on 3 weeks off rotation offshore.

What you’ll do:

  • Accountability for all logistics and services requirements of the West White Rose Platform.
  • Making high criticality/high dollar value decisions on timing and resource allocation to ensure that all deliverables are satisfied
  • The coordination of supply vessel loading/unloading, deck utilization, timing decisions related to the call out of equipment/services based on deck space and accommodations restrictions.
  • Working with Operations, Onshore Logistics and third party service providers to ensure requirements for WWR are fulfilled and resources are available (supply boats, helicopters)
  • Ensuring effective utilization of all Core Crew deck management resources (deck supervisors, crane operators, deck operators, banksmen) to meet platform materials deliverables and supervising execution of scopes
  • Ensuring effective operation of the facility from a catering and accommodations standpoint including coordination of food and accommodation supply; supervising Core Catering crew to ensure deliverables are satisfied
  • Managing activities in an environment that is fluid such that decisions may change on an hourly basis; will require significant leadership and coordination skills to adjust to the type of conditions in which the platform operates

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Engineering Technologist and/or Industry Certification; post secondary education related to oil and gas would be an asset (ie Petroleum Technology, Marine, etc.)
  • Past experience working in an offshore environment would be considered an asset
  • Past experience in offshore logistics and materials management is a requirement Leadership experience is a requirement
  • Training as required by the CAPP Standard Practice for Training and Qualifications of Personnel, other regulatory requirements, and company required training as per the approved Cenovus Training Matrix. This training to be provided by Cenovus to the successful candidate.

This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to offshore pre-placement Fitness for Work assessments, which includes drug and alcohol screening, a CAPP medical and BST/HUEBA testing
You must be able to travel via helicopter and boat. This position requires the successful candidate travel offshore, there you will be required to obtain and maintain medical clearance and obtain all required training necessary for offshore travel.
