We offer 24 locations in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Garrett County and Harford Counties and Baltimore City.
Catholic Charities of Baltimore, Senior Communities is currently seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician, who will oversee and maintain assigned facility(s) of no more than 90 units and may supervise as many as two maintenance staff. The work schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:00pm.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years’ experience in maintenance operations including general building maintenance, general carpentry, electrical systems and plumbing.
- Knowledge of HVACR desired.
- Thorough knowledge of safety hazards associated with maintenance operations and the proper handling and application of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions. This includes understanding material safety data sheets (MSDS) and adhering to all safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Shows reliability by being punctual and maintaining consistent attendance.
- Ability to follow Federal, State and Local regulations and internal procedures.
- Foster and maintain a good working relationship among residents and staff.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools and/or equipment used in routine maintenance. Ability to keep the property clean and orderly.
- Demonstrates discretion and professionalism in all interactions, coupled with exceptional planning and organizational abilities.
- Effectively influences and engages staff while employing strong conflict resolution skills.
- Exhibits critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and delegate activities as appropriate to ensure optimal team performance.
- Requires the ability to utilize computer systems and software necessary to perform position functions. Basic Windows PC, web browsing (i.e., Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), Onesite, and Microsoft Outlook skills required. Other Microsoft Office application knowledge, such as Word, Excel PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. regularly and consistently throughout the workday.
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Moving about accomplishing tasks or moving from one work site to another.
- Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with others.
- Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) is required for this position. Driver must be at least 21 years of age, with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience, and a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence. There can be no state issued restrictions on the licenses that would impede driver’s ability to operate the vehicle as required by the Agency, and there must not be more than three (3) points on their driving record.

Responsibilities:
- Provides a culture of continuous improvement by actively mentoring and coaching maintenance personnel. Ensures that colleagues understand best practices, safety protocols, and operational standards. Accountable for tracking progress and providing constructive feedback, thereby contributing to the professional development of employees and the overall efficiency of maintenance operations.
- Ensures that issued Facilities Service Requests from Onesite have been completed, signed, and returned in a timely manner.
- Determines work priorities and extent of repairs or corrective measures needed.
- Inspects and performs preventative maintenance according to established schedules and procedures.
- Repairs equipment as needed.
- Complies with all OSHA and MOSH regulations concerning building safety and “right-to-know” laws.
- Ensures all billing records are accurate and submitted to management following established guidelines.
- Maintains records of maintenance services, equipment purchases, various logs, operating manuals and warranties.
- Ensures that all equipment warranties are forwarded to the Facilities Compliance/Project Manager and/or Property Manager for proper retention.
- Accurately documenting and reporting incidents in a timely manner, ensuring all relevant details are captured for accountability and follow-up.
- Oversees inventory management with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency, holding oneself accountable for discrepancies and ensuring that stock levels meet operational needs.
- Remains available for on-call emergency situations, demonstrating accountability by responding promptly and effectively to incidents, ensuring the safety and well-being of all stakeholders. Assures that sidewalks and building access areas are clear of snow/ice during inclement weather in a timely manner and clears if necessary.
- Works with supervisors to assure that maintenance and operating expenditures are kept within the approved budget.
- Responsible for managing and directing the work of others, including recruiting new hires, onboarding new staff, and conducting performance reviews.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
