ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join the Management Accounting team in the Finance branch at TAFE NSW. You will coordinate and provide oversight to the Management Accounting team in the preparation, consolidation, initial analysis and assessment of the financial performance of TAFE NSW against budget, forecast and last year for reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
You have demonstrated experience in management accounting, including reporting & analytics. You have experience in providing comprehensive, accurate and timely reports (sometimes drawing from a collective of legacy systems across TAFE NSW) with a level of urgency to analyse and deliver amidst other reporting priorities and tight timelines.
You have highly advanced communication skills: actively listening to others, responding with understanding and respect, collaborating, and valuing their contributions.
You will have outstanding attention to detail and the ability to meet quality standards. You will be able to work collaboratively and independently and prioritise your work to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Management Accountant leads a small team of management accounting professionals in the preparation of month-end reporting, consolidated analysis and bespoke financial performance reports for internal and external (NSW Department of Education and NSW Treasury) stakeholders. The position focuses on the accuracy of end-of-month reporting, with particular attention to consolidating analysis, data accuracy, and providing a supportive narrative.
As a Senior Management Accountant, you will be required to collaborate with colleagues across TAFE NSW Finance and Treasury to verify financial quality, consistency and alignment of data to stakeholder requirements. The role supports the development of high-level financial management acumen and capability across TAFE NSW Corporate business units through building positive and strong relationships with Executive leadership and senior management teams, coaching and tailoring advice and support to meet business needs and drive increased accountability.
