SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Ability to provide strategic direction and operational leadership to Early Childhood Service Managers in the access and planning pathway and community members across all Northcott early childhood service regions.
  • Goal focused and driven by meeting NDIS key deliverables.
  • Ability to lead a team off staff across a large geographical area, with remote management.
  • Ability to guide, direct and facilitate staff high performance.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of typical early childhood development and the impact of disability and developmental delay on a child and their family and carers.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of best practice models in the Early Childhood Approach.
  • Comprehensive understanding of & ability to support staff working with complex & vulnerable families.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the local service environment where customers reside, including funded and non-funded services.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and provide timely, accurate advice and reporting to Senior Management and the NDIA.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write reports and deliver face to face reporting to the NDIA at scheduled formal meetings.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills including the ability to stay calm and communicate effectively under pressure.
  • High level organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong networking and community capacity building skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and resolve feedback and complaints from stakeholders that focuses on working toward a positive outcome.

  • Ability to remain objective and impartial when providing support and guidance.
  • Appreciation and acceptance of diversity for wellness, culture, understanding the importance of implementing a tailored and personalised approach to children and their families.
  • Knowledge of the Disability Services Act and the Disability Service Standards.
  • Knowledge of the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 and other child protection legislation the principles of ‘Keep Them Safe’.

THE ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE, ARE:

  • Tertiary qualifications in human services, early childhood, management, allied health or other relevant professional field.
  • Senior level leadership and management experience in a human services field.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a diverse team to achieve high quality outcomes including the ability to effectively manage all aspects of human resource matters.
  • High level understanding of best practice Early Childhood Intervention services connecting and building working relationships with local community and mainstream services.
  • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of working with, negotiating and reporting to NSW and Commonwealth government departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively administer the delivery of Early Childhood Services by managing productivity targets, portfolios, completion of required documentation/processes according to and in compliance with the PITC Statement of Requirements and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor the NDIS IT System to analyse reports/information about the delivery of early childhood services and address any areas of concern within a timely manner.
  • Ensure PITC Statement of Requirements performance targets are met and that NDIS data input is consistent and timely.
  • Manage and record feedback (compliments and complaints) associated with the early childhood program and escalate to the NDIA within the timeframes and processes outlined in the PITC Statement of Requirements and Grant Agreement.
  • Ensure all NDIA reporting is completed to a high level and is submitted to the NDIA within the required timeframes.
  • Build brand awareness and adhere to the co-branding protocols as determined by the NDIA and outlined in the NDIS Co-branded Partner Guidelines.
  • Manage the intake and allocation of portfolios based on front line workers skill/experience and capacity as well as customer needs.
  • Manage direct reports including; induction, orientation, leave requests, performance management and career development.
  • Support the management of logistics, facilities and infrastructure in early childhood service areas.
  • Drive KPI’s to meet the performance targets as assigned by the NDIA.
