Description:

As Senior Manager, Environment Affairs , dnata, you will be responsible for the further development, implementation and management of our environment & sustainability policies and positions as they relate to the operations of dnata (catering, ground handling, cargo, and travel services) to achieve our decarbonisation strategy. This involves work on all environment-linked internal and corporate policies, performance reporting, and stakeholder relationships, UAE/global regulatory policy challenges – as well as maintaining our position as industry leaders in the airport services field across Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) aspects as well. This role will involve international travel.
Responsibilities:
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Plan, monitor, and implement activities related to the Group environment and sustainability plan and policy.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and develop plans to realize the opportunities.
- Drive a continuous improvement process that will progress dnata up the culture maturity matrix and improve environmental sustainability performance.
- Lead and facilitate departments across dnata and cross-functionally within the Emirates Group to ensure leading edge environmental performance and improvement – including fuel efficiency, emissions reduction, renewable energy, utility efficiency and recycling projects.
- Maintain our position as leaders in the industry by participating in relevant forums internally and externally, building relationships and strategic partnerships to advance the dnata agenda (both internationally and locally).
- Engage and lead orientation, awareness, and training programs across dnata through involvement in project meetings, joint worksites meetings, and communication plans and activities.
- Review and assess reports, trends and data related to environmental indicators (includes compliance reporting).
- Communicate assessment findings to Executive Leadership Team and Management groups.
- Support data collection for the development and completion of reporting internally and to regulatory bodies as required or identified through permits, regulations, customer requests, legislation, or other government / environmental entities.
- Manage a team of specialists and other department analysts to support company environmental policies.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST MEET THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or Honours in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Facilities Management (or equivalent experience in ESG).
- 10+ years of experience in Environmental Management in a progressive leadership capacity - track record of leading teams and managing complex projects.
- Experience in ESG materiality and/or maturity assessments, ESG performance reviews, benchmarking, and developing an ESG high level roadmap.
- Good understanding of net zero, circular economy, decarbonisation, sustainable development, the 17 UN SDGs, global reporting frameworks (GRI, SASB, ISSB, CSRD), the double materiality concept, sustainability strategy implementation.
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, utilizing ESG data providers and software tools.
