We are seeking a multifaceted and experienced sales professional to lead an Americas regional Field Applications team tasked with providing customers with technical expertise, serving as trusted advisors on their most ambitious business priorities.
The Sr. Manager, Field Application Scientist (FAS) will directly manage, train and enhance our field application scientist team, in alignment with the priorities with the commercial leader. As the leader of a field-based team, you will spend 40% of your time “in the field” with Field Application Scientists (FAS), visiting customers to develop and maintain positive relationships, monitor customer happiness, and market our services and value. Close collaboration with Sales, Quality, R&D and Service District Managers is crucial for crafting and maintaining a highly effective cross-functional team that exceeds customer requirements and drives continuous improvements.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Business, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced Degree in Business or Science strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of effective sales representative experience managing accounts, sales, and client relationships.
- 3+ years of experience leading a team preferred
- Experience demonstrating strong leadership and management skills.
- Shown experience in setting sales strategies and coaching sales representatives to improve selling efficiency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets, with experience managing a territory with a revenue of $100M or more.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of analyzing market trends and competitor activities to develop effective sales strategies.
- Experience in business planning, forecasting, and budgeting resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-departmental teams and encouraging relationships with collaborators.
- Strong business insight, selling, and presentation skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Responsibilities:
- Customer Relationship Management: Coordinate the management of regional key accounts, local accounts, and critical issues as a member of the Service and Support leadership team. Partner with the local field team to monitor and resolve customer difficulties, including complaints.
- Team Coordination: Assist the FAS team in planning and organizing activities to ensure efficient and effective support for commercial sales team and customers.
- Training: Implement and drive appropriate training plan, adherence to it and other performance improvement plans for the field applications team.
- Metrics and Performance Indicators: Develop and maintain metrics to highlight performance and gaps in field application team.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate employee performance, provide ongoing feedback to foster growth and development, and take appropriate actions. Complete annual performance reviews.
- Vision and Strategy: Develop, share, and implement the long-term vision and strategy of the Field Applications Team.
