ABOUT US:
The Financial Institutions Policy Branch provides the Ministry of Finance with policy research, analysis and development services regarding Ontario’s interest in, and regulation of, the financial services sector, including the insurance, credit union and mortgage broker sectors. It also provides analytical support and policy advice on a wide range of microeconomic issues related to economic growth and job creation.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of policy and regulatory solutions for financial services sectors including, insurance, mortgage brokers, and credit unions.
- Foster strong relationships with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) and key industry stakeholders to influence and shape regulatory practices and policies.
- Ensure that regulatory initiatives and legislative reviews are strategically aligned with government priorities and the evolving financial services landscape.
- Provide strategic advice and high-level briefings for senior decision-makers, overseeing statutory reviews of legislation and developing strategic solutions to address emerging policy challenges.
- Strategically manage stakeholder roundtables and consultations to gather insights, build consensus, and drive policy initiatives forward.
- Mentor a high-performing team of policy professionals, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development.
