Description:

As Ipsen looks to build out its North American hub operations in Cambridge, Massachusetts, business requirements are increasing resulting in the need to take a more holistic view of site related activities and geographically dispersed teams.
The Senior Manager FP&A is accountable for providing financial support to defined functions. This position is responsible for the internal financial budgeting / controllership for Ipsen’s Functions based in the US, as well as critical site and cross legal entity financial responsibilities to Global colleagues. Potential functions that this position support may include but not limited to: Business Operations, Value & Access, along with Global functions such as Legal IT along with local G&A functions.
This position will partner and provide support to the executive level management and other functional groups enabling effective financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting of operating results to enable sound business decisions in accordance with IFRS and Budget/Forecast. This position will work with the Support / Shared Service Functions on key financial forecasting and reporting processes. In addition, the successful candidate will need to collaborate with several different functional groups, and business partners for ad hoc analysis as well as implementing systems and procedures in accordance with corporate objectives.
The position will report to the Senior Director, FP&A for North America Commercial Operations and will be based in Cambridge.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Finance, Accounting or relevant degree, MBA is strongly preferred
  • CPA preferred.
  • 5-10 years of relevant, demonstrated & practical experience developing robust financial forecasts and strategic plans
  • Proven track record in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, including business impact modelling
  • Must have thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial statements and the interface between external reporting, management reporting
  • Prior Big 4/financial accounting experience desired, not required
  • Prior leadership experience in a Corporate FP&A function
  • Solid understanding of IFRS
  • Expertise in business analytics and tools including advanced Excel skills, planning systems (SAP, TM1, RDL)
  • Expertise is Microsoft Office Suite applications
    The annual base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $170,000

    The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering Quarterly Forecasting, Annual Budget, and Strategic Plans for various related spend within the US in line with Corporate (France) timelines
  • Responsible for collating and reporting assigned US Headcount and headcount related costs for Actuals, Forecast and Budget and calculating salaries for all Forecasts, Budgets and Plans
  • Responsible for coordinating and agreeing the financial validation of Corporate costs savings relating to the US and reporting these both locally and at Ipsen Group level
  • Manage preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounting packs for costs in accordance with local and Group reporting requirements and standards with meaningful variance analysis and commentary
  • Work cross-functionally within Ipsen Group and cross-site areas of the business by representing US corporate costs at relevant forums and form an understanding of the overall business to evaluate impacts and feed into risk management processes.
  • Provide financial information and support to external auditors in relation to the accuracy and compliance of the costs for multiple legal entities
  • Partner with US Shared Financial Services and US Purchasing teams on compliance with Purchase to Pay (P2P) policies and procedures for US Corporate costs.
  • Ad Hoc project work as required both locally within US Corporate costs and or globally for corporate cost finance team
  • Review and prepare month-end journal entries in the areas of PO accruals
  • Provide business and analytical support for the Facilities organization for several of the Cambridge based buildings, including rent, maintenance, legal fees, taxes, parking, and assets
  • Provide budgeting, reporting and business support to the NALT for all site-wide costs shared and re-charged across management units & legal entities
  • Provide support to the tax department including financial analysis to support tax positions and payments
  • Provide general site-wide business support to various functions on core P2P processes and policies
  • Support site wide Finance initiatives covering systems support, systems enhancements/new system implementation, productivity efforts and transformation initiatives as needed
  • This position may infrequently require working after hours and weekends to meet specific deadlines for reporting and special projects, and travel to various Ipsen sites domestically and internationally
