About the team you are joining
Airlines worldwide are increasingly recognizing sustainability as a critical factor for their “license to operate.” At the same time, high fuel costs necessitate efficient fuel management strategies. Most airlines need support to improve their fuel efficiency management.
IATA aims to be a center of expertise in fuel efficiency, supporting airlines and the industry in adopting best practices for fuel efficiency to optimize fuel consumption and achieve savings. IATA’s initiatives related to fuel efficiency are grouped under the IATA Fuel Efficiency Program.
We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead all commercial initiatives related to the Fuel Efficiency Program. Reporting to the Principal of Safety and Operational Analytics, the Senior Manager of Fuel Efficiency Solutions will be responsible for developing the go-to-market plan for the IATA Fuel Efficiency Program. This includes consulting activities, BI solutions, training, and IATA fuel-related publications. Additionally, the Senior Manager will oversee the implementation and delivery of fuel-efficiency consulting activities.
What your day would be like
The Senior Manager is expected to:
Implement the IATA commercial strategy associated to the IATA Fuel Efficiency Program and execute strategic business plans in collaboration with all IATA relevant stakeholders.
Participate to the development of the products and services associated with the IATA Fuel Efficiency Program (consulting, BI solutions, training, publications).
Develop a go-to-market plan for the roll-out of the IATA Efficiency Program. The Senior Manager, Fuel Efficiency Solutions will be responsible for defining the go-to-market strategy across all IATA lines of business (consulting, BI solutions, training, publications) but will only oversee its implementation for the consulting segment.
Identify commercial opportunities related to fuel efficiency within the consulting segment, develop responses to expressions of interest and contract proposals, and negotiate projects until contract closure, ensuring alignment with budgetary targets.
Manage the execution and/or delivery of consulting projects, including but not limited to fuel efficiency (such as FEGA – Fuel Efficiency Gap Analysis), in close collaboration with IATA data analysts, flight operations experts, sustainability experts, and other specialists such as aircraft pilots.
Prepare annual budgets and monthly financial projections; submit reports and regular updates on progress, accomplishments, financial status and plans as requested.
In close coordination with the IATA-core team, participate in research and development activities related to fuel efficiency to benefit airlines and the industry. Current initiatives include leveraging data analytics to determine the optimal amount of contingency fuel required for each flight and development of advanced algorithms to predict fuel burn for instance.
Participate in promoting IATA Efficiency Program offering at various events, conferences, and forums to generate awareness and increase the uptake of commercial offering.
