REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Economics, International Affairs, International Law or Communications;
- At least 3 years of experience in the Public / Government Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Commercial or Communications Department of a multinational company or in the public sector;
- Ideally good understanding of aviation regulatory landscape and traffic rights
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Business mindset and ability to synthesize information into recommendations
- Good oral and written presentations skills
- Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills
- Fluent spoken / written English and Hungarian
- Ability to live and work in Budapest, Hungary
- High degree of independence
- Flexibility to travel as required away from Head Office

Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Senior Manager Government and Public Affairs & ESG reports to the Corporate & ESG Officer and is based in the company’s head office in Budapest. She/he is responsible for the Group’s public relations, public policy and ESG functions. She/he develops government relations and public policy and strategy, builds and oversees relations with key industry groups and with European institutions and governments’ officials while developing a strategy with respect to specific objectives set in cooperation with Senior Management. The Senior Manager of Government and Public Affairs & ESG is passionate about the opportunity to shape the future of the low-cost model and to defend the interests of the Group in a fast-changing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leading Wizz Air’s efforts to secure market access to new countries and jurisdictions;
- Managing the Group’s traffic rights portfolio, procuring designations, extra-bilateral rights and other operating permissions;
- Development and maintenance of effective relationships with the public sector, industry regulatory bodies and relevant stakeholders groups;
- Establish regular contact with diplomats, government representatives, political advisers, civil servants, non-departmental public bodies and regulators to keep them informed about the organisation’s work and policy concerns
- Representation of the Group’s interests through interacting with public sector officials, regulatory bodies, European institutions and other stakeholders;
- Synthesis of position papers and presentations to the members of the Senior Management for meetings with key stakeholders;
- Close cooperation with Commercial teams to understand Wizz Air’s strategic focus and drive market access efforts accordingly.
