We are seeking a Senior Manager, Legal Solutions to join our Practice Efficiency & Innovation department in the Firm. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience practicing law, combined with a strong background and interest in legal technology.
Reporting to the Director, Practice Efficiency & Innovation (Director), the Senior Manager will lead and manage the evaluation, procurement, deployment and firm adoption of a range of practice solutions. With support from other members of the Practice Efficiency & Innovation team, the Senior Manager will work closely with the firm’s lawyers to identify opportunities to introduce efficiencies and streamline workflows to enhance their practices; this will involve introducing new technologies as well as leveraging existing tools.
The Senior Manager will work closely with the Director in helping develop the Legal Solutions team’s mandate, roadmap and strategic direction, ensuring alignment with firm business objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the selection, procurement, and implementation of legal technology solutions for the firm’s practice groups.
- Collaborate with the firm’s lawyers to identify opportunities to leverage efficiency tools.
- Develop and execute strategies for the integration of legal technology solutions within the firm to enhance practice efficiency and effectiveness.
- Advise lawyers on technology-enabled workflows and best practices.
- Systematically incorporate feedback from lawyers to refine and improve deployed solutions.
- Lead and manage the Legal Solutions team, including developing and implementing strategy as well as overseeing the team’s day-to-day operations, budget and KPI metrics.
- Collaborate, when appropriate, with the firm’s Enterprise Solutions team to ensure alignment across IT initiatives.
- Act as point person for and help manage relationships with representatives of legal technology vendors.
- Support the Director in developing the Legal Solutions team’s mandate and strategic direction, ensuring alignment with firm objectives.
- Occasionally deliver presentations to the firm, Practice Groups, Business Services groups, and firm leadership on the status of legal technology at the firm and market trends in connection with legal technology.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and developments in legal technology as well as legislation, Court and Law Society directions and guidelines regarding the use of artificial intelligence in legal practice.
- Work closely with the Knowledge Management, Legal Project Management and Research teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of solutions with the firm’s business strategy.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and growth within the Legal Solutions team.
What you’ll bring:
- A practicing lawyer in Canada and/or LL.B., J.D or BCL
- 3-5 years of experience practicing law, with a strong understanding of legal processes and workflows.
- Experience in the implementation and management of technology solutions within the legal/professional services sector.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Business-minded with an ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
- Familiarity with knowledge management and legal project management principles.
- Proficiency in French is not required but is preferred.
