Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for leading the development and execution of marketing strategies across B2B and B2C channels to drive sales, revenue, and profitability to meet business goals for assigned business areas. This role, reporting to the VP of Marketing Strategy, is an individual contributor role, and leads teams through matrixed reporting relationships. This role works directly with business leaders as a part of their core cross-functional teams and must be able to achieve results in a matrixed environment. This role will connect a cross-functional team of Media, Creative, Analytical, Digital, Call Center, Marketing Operations, and Data team members to deliver annual business plans, build multi-year roadmaps and capabilities, and create an end-to-end approach to our business, valuing both current year sales and lifetime value. The Senior Manager, Marketing Strategy must be skilled at prioritizing and directing work, and in building bridges across multiple organizations, operating levels, and communication styles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prioritize work with input from the VP of Marketing Strategy and deliver the sales, revenue, expense, and consumer experience plans, working together with our business capability leaders.
- Collaborate with Strategy team members as needed to form and support the implementation of Marketing strategies, objectives, and processes that are fully aligned with the overall functional business strategy.
- Create cross-functional marketing teams to deliver multi-year marketing plans and drive measurable results aligned to business goals. Translate expressed business goals into actionable B2B and B2C marketing programs with defined audiences and clearly articulated and measurable marketing goals (e.g., pipeline development, awareness, etc.). Communicate effectively across all levels.
- Develop sales plans and sales/expense forecasts in coordination with the business capability leaders.
- Drive end-to-end customer engagement programs that build interest, awareness, trust, loyalty, and retention among prospects and customers.
- Understand consumer trends and customer segments, including consumer journeys.
- Work cross-functionally with the Analytics team to establish and manage key performance indicators.
- Work cross-functionally with Product and Finance teams to define ROI on proposed plans and report on actual performance to meet profitability thresholds.
- Work cross-functionally with the Marketing Ops teams for prioritization, planning, and execution of sales campaigns.
- Work cooperatively with insights and analytics teams to build and share industry expertise, including product, media, and sales channel trends.
- Drive organizational value by understanding the trends and competitive landscape impacting the business both in current and future state.
- Understand revenue and expense drivers for the organization to effectively make tradeoffs for the benefit of the total business.
- Drives vision and purpose by exhibiting leadership behaviors that align to organizations vision, purpose, promise and values.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or other related fields or trade-off in related professional experience; MBA helpful
- 5+ years of experience leading high performing cross-functional teams responsible for growing sales or service goals in B2B and B2C environments.
- Experience with both B2B and B2C marketing.
- Demonstrated influencing skills including professional, effective, and persuasive oral and written communications to all audience levels, technical and non-technical. Demonstrated experience influencing senior executives and driving consensus across multiple stakeholders with diverse priorities.
- End-to-end knowledge of the sales funnel and experience with a variety of online and offline media and sales channels.
- Demonstrated operational and project management proficiency including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and meet or exceed goals in high pace, pressure situations.
- Experience in developing creative, scalable content strategies, exceptional narratives, and memorable messaging.
- Demonstrated experience understanding, interpreting program metrics and analytics to inform leaders and optimize programs and experiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills - a blend of strength of conviction with diplomacy and a constructive attitude.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to communicate financial results to senior leaders.
- Demonstrated experience presenting to senior leaders, internal and external business partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent project management, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced changing environment with a certain level of ambiguity.
- Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships effectively across enterprise departments and within teams, demonstrate horizontal thinking and enterprise mindset, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Ability to work flexibly among quickly changing priorities while consistently delivering to tight deadlines.
