Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is responsible for managing the development, launch and ongoing evolution of Payment & Transfer products for the bank. He/she oversees the development of the Payment & Transfer strategic product roadmap with key market and research inputs. He/she develops pricing, launch strategies and financial projections, in collaboration with the Commercials teams. He/she manages the performance and product functionalities of the Bank’s Payment & Transfer products based on market feedback, a solid understanding of how to apply regulatory and legal requirements, and prioritizing the development of Payment & Transfer features against strategic goals and initiatives. The work involves collaboration with other business, technology and operations teams as well as keeping an eye on the market for product performance and competitor tracking. He/she is expected to be an effective project manager and able to manage multiple stakeholders. He/she collaborates with various teams to implement product improvements and new features by driving ongoing modifications or project implementation. He manages product feedback and translates it into product requirements for implementation by technical teams. He also collaborates with operations teams to understand product operations and scope for improvement. He also requires knowledge of the market trends and relevant technologies. He/she drives market research studies to explore new technology, and oversees the development of business proposals for new opportunities.
The role is a mentor in this field of work. He/she focuses on people, business acumen, and commercial leadership. He/she is accountable for product performance, brings a high-level expertise to the business. He/she is an expert on product development and management tools, as well as with various product positioning and pricing methodologies. He/she is knowledgeable of new and emerging consumer and industry trends.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A tertiary-level qualification from an internationally/regionally recognized institution.

YEARS & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

  • Would have 8 to 10 years of equivalent experience where at least three has been in a lead role in developing and launching Payment & Transfer products for financial services firms
  • Has led teams and is accountable for product development, launch and performance
  • Has been a member of a function’s leadership team, delivering on both strategy formulation and implementation
  • Has had operational responsibility for their team; responsible for team outcomes and resources
  • Would have assumed influential, subject matter expert roles in previous organizations, building the product capability
  • Must have a strong understanding and experience in the Payment & Transfer space and/or alternate payment method
  • Will have relevant technology and tool experience: API solution integration, 3DS, tokenization, Digital/eCommerce, Wallets, real-time payments or Open Banking experience highly desired.
  • Experience with scrum / agile methodologies
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders at various levels up to C-level
  • Has ownership of the commercial impact of decisions made at a development level
  • Understand technical tools relevant to building modern cloud-based software products

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the Payment & Transfer product roadmap by identifying focus areas for the products
  • Develop detailed analysis to assess revenue potential of new Payment & Transfer products or features
  • Present findings to key business stakeholders on the customers’ need and pain points on Payment & Transfer related products and services
  • Lead the development of business cases for specific innovation ideas and initiatives to gather inputs and support
  • Lead the development of the detailed product requirements and work with UX to build the user flow for needed products and features to enable implementation by the technical teams
  • Work with technology on the timeline for development, implementation and release process for Payment & Transfer products
  • Validate detailed specifications and development costing against market potential and future revenue
  • Prioritize the development of product features against strategic goals and initiatives
  • Execute projects to implement new Payment & Transfer offerings or major changes its service offerings
  • Manage customer feedback, usability testing, analytics tools and A/B testing with UX
  • Translate product feedback to requirement specifications
  • Communicate business requirements for enhancements to Payment & Transfer products with internal and/or external technical teams for implementation
  • Collaborate with partners on integration work - with platforms, systems, partners
  • Development of go-to-market plans with the Commercials team
  • Collaborate on the development of marketing materials for new Payment & Transfer features and services
  • Develop creative ideas and solutions based on industry research and customer insights to formulate thinking for new Payment & Transfer products
  • Provide inputs to the development of specific in-product tools and features for improving customer engagement
  • Identify and establish ownership for product metrics and performance expectations to own team and to partner teams - operations, technology, commercials
  • Be accountable for issue resolution on product performance by coordinating with operations, finance, risk and technology teams
  • Contribute to the development of key metrics for product success
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with internal stakeholders, project teams, external business partners, vendors and suppliers
  • Manage key stakeholders within the business in large projects and initiatives
  • Support business development and provide product innovation point of view by collaborating with key business stakeholders
  • Make decisions on whether to continue or change the existing Product development path
  • Enforce, incorporate, and comply with all necessary controls and related information security (EIS) policies, procedures, practices, training, reporting, personal due diligence and vigilance, within departmental/unit activities and operations.
