KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced knowledge of payroll practices, CRA regulations, benefits administration, and global payroll expertise.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with payroll technologies (e.g., ADP, Dayforce, Workday, SAP, Oracle) with in-depth experience in one of them.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze payroll data and trends, providing actionable insights for optimization.
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Ability to assess clients’ needs, develop tailored payroll strategies, and provide solutions in a consulting capacity.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, providing mentorship, and driving performance excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a payroll function with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

1. Client Payroll Advisory:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients seeking payroll consulting services, advising on payroll operating models and process optimization.
  • Analyze clients’ existing payroll systems and processes, offering recommendations for improvements or efficiencies, such as automation, cost reduction, and error prevention.
  • Exhibit familiarity and/or thought leadership with best-practice payroll reporting, including optimizing payroll costs, improving accuracy, and enhancing efficiencies.
  • Have a strong understanding of payroll analytics and KPIs, and comfort advising clients on how these can be leveraged in a payroll context.
  • Participate in payroll implementations that include payroll scope. Guide the implementation team with payroll challenges.
  • Have experience with payroll process improvement cycles, and familiar with automation tools to enable
  • Be a proponent of the Payroll space with a future-focused lens with respect to AI and other digital impacted changes

  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor on all payroll-related matters.
  • Communicate effectively with senior executives, presenting payroll data, reports, and strategic recommendations across HR, finance and IT teams.
  • Manage internal expectations and alignment with supporting partners on bids/proposals, delivery, and account management.
