POSITION SUMMARY

JIBC has an opportunity for a Senior Manager in our People and Culture team. Reporting directly to the Director, People and Culture, this newly created role will support the People and Culture team in all aspects of human resources from day-to-day operations to ongoing initiatives and business improvement projects. The main areas we are looking for are as follows:

  • Operational Support: Provide comprehensive day-to-day operational support in various human resources functions, including recruitment and retention, performance management, total compensation, benefits and disability management, and organizational development.
  • Labour Relations Assistance: Guide the Employee and Labour Relations consultant in the execution of labour relations
  • Compensation Program Support: Assist in managing the excluded compensation program, including the development and maintenance of job descriptions, job evaluation, and salary administration.
  • Organizational Support: Partner with leaders on organizational structure, staffing plans, and position design, providing operational support for organizational changes and improvements as well as participate in projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work closely with leadership across the organization to support a culture of inclusion, respect, engagement, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure that HR programs and practices are aligned with current research, sector-related employment terms, and legislative requirements, promoting best practices across the department.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned People and Culture professional with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset that thrives in environments where employee engagement is prioritized. You have proven ability to work with teams and leaders across all levels and departments in an organization and enjoy guiding and coaching employees and leaders.
  • This position requires a minimum of 7 years of related people and culture experience including labour relations, EDI, employee engagement and compensation, preferably in a public sector environment. Although this position does not have any direct reports, you will be working closely with the People and Culture team and provide support and coaching as needed.
  • A post-secondary education is required and Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or progress towards the designation is preferred.
