In recent years, BD’s Medication Management Solutions (MMS) business unit has expanded into the high-growth pharmacy automation space and is now one of the global leaders in pharmacy automation. The Pharmacy Automation platform positions BD to offer our pharmacy customers a more comprehensive set of thoughtful, connected care technologies as they expand care to new settings, centralize their pharmacy operations and own the charge in addressing some of the biggest challenges facing the industry, including health care worker burnout and the global clinician shortage. BD’s Pharmacy Automation portfolio covers a wide range of hardware and software technologies from storage and dispensing robots, inspection solutions, pouch packagers, vial filling systems, blister card production systems as well as central fill solutions and enterprise pharmacy management software solutions. We are searching for a Senior Manager, Product Ownership to join our growing MMS Pharmacy Automation team.
The Senior Manager, Product Ownership will manage a US-based team of experienced Product Owners spanning the Pharmacy Automation product portfolio. This role involves leading, mentoring, and offering career guidance to a team of Product Owners, ownership of functional processes, and representation of the team in cross-functional and/or leadership forums. We are searching for a servant leader who will grow their people while growing the business by inviting and mobilizing the collective power of their team.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of functional management and/or product owner experience in healthcare technology, pharmacy automation, or a closely related field.
- Bachelors degree with 10yrs relevant experience, Masters and 8yrs of experience, and/or PhD and 5yrs relevant experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, proven ability to manage and motivate teams, ability to build cross-functional relationships and lead without authority.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering software projects through agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and best practices.
- Experience in or ability to leverage Product Management and Development tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Aha!, Rally, Jira or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles; experience working or leading in a hybrid Agile-waterfall environment

- Works collaboratively with Product Owner Manager counterpart in Europe to create and train on company processes and procedures governing software requirements management and Product Ownership processes throughout the development life cycle. Communicates a consolidated rollup view of status, metrics, and roadblocks to stakeholders and leadership.
- Champions the adoption and ongoing enhancement of Product Ownership best practices within the organization, drawing upon personal experience, industry best practices, and insights of the team. Provides guidance on effective cross-team dependency management, iteration planning, and elaboration of design inputs and outputs.
- Trains and guides team in standard processes for the creation and prioritization of product backlogs to support business objectives. Supports Product Owners to incorporate stakeholder input into product backlog while advocating for them as they negotiate tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer.
- Collaborates with the development team leads and managers to ensure team cohesion. Plays an active role in mitigating non-technical impediments impacting successful team completion of milestones and goals.
- Facilitates communication and decision-making between Product Owners and stakeholders to understand and address issues as they arise, identify perception gaps, and resolve questions to ensure efficient and effective execution of new product development and on-market product engineering.
- Collaborates with UXD leadership to drive user-centered design principles with the development teams and ensure adherence to brand standards
- Partners across different teams and departments as needed to coordinate PI planning, development plans, testing, training, product launch, and on-market product engineering support.
