The Sr. Project Engineer/Manager is responsible for the design of all process related activities, involving & driving in the execution and hand-over of CAPEX investment projects in Visp Small Molecules Areas within safety, cost, schedule, quality and functionality.
This is a Senior level position responsible for SM process engineering and coordination between all engineering areas of the investment activities in Visp.
This includes responsibility for providing input for relevant engineering criteria (e.g., P&ID, quality etc.), coordination of all process relevant activities.
To achieve this, this Role to ensure that all process relevant designs / engineering activities will be finished in time and all relevant documentation / archiving / filing activity applied.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor or Higher Degree in Engineering in Chemical Processes, Mechanical, Plant Engineering or similar
  • Experience in project engineering or project management for chemical, or pharmaceutical industries with international experience
  • Project engineering skills, including contract management in collaboration with professional procurement organization
  • Understanding project controlling and project appraisal knowledge
  • Wide interdisciplinary knowledge
  • Extended EHS knowledge
  • Capable motivating team drives results, good communication skills and experience in managing matrix-based cross-functional teams.
  • Solid internal and external collaboration and influencing skills and the ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams in the successful delivery of projects.
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Fluent English; German is an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for all Process related activities, Engineering the process discipline of CAPEX projects to ensure that Lonza standards and requirements as well as the site standards are correctly incorporated within the discipline specifications.
  • Responsible for quality, schedule, costs of all assigned sub-systems, provide equipment and system mechanical completion walk-downs, safety walk-downs, system energization plans.
  • Coordination of all process relevant activities incl. review and approve process engineering specifications, including process piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), datasheets, and procurement packages for new equipment and systems.
  • Participate in FATs / SATs as observing auditor.
  • Organize internal as well as external workshops and support team members to establish agendas, meeting minutes, actions lists.
  • Understand and implement internal policies, procedures and specifications as required for the execution of process engineering for the project.
  • Close collaboration with all project discipline (incl. Contactors), key Project & Site stakeholders and project manager.
  • Interface with stakeholders to ensure the design, execution and delivery are in accordance with Global Engineering, Quality, Environmental and Safety procedures.
