JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Manufacturing Sciences to join our Protein and Cellular Analysis Operations BU team as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC). This position will work out of our Eugene OR location. As the Senior Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to manage multi-site Manufacturing Sciences groups and lead a matrixed global Manufacturing Sciences team. Your role will involve effectively engaging with the leadership teams, providing strategic guidance, technical expertise, coaching and facilitating effective communication and coordination between different sites. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing sciences or a related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Ability to attract, engage, develop, and retain top talent at all levels, including creating a culture of ownership and collaboration with other functions.
  • Extensive understanding of manufacturing processes, technologies, and widely accepted industry methods.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry is highly desirable.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards, including FDA, GMP, and ISO.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement process optimization strategies.
  • Proficiency in handling various tasks simultaneously within a fast-paced work environment, while effectively managing deadlines and priorities.
  • You will be expected to be on-site five days per week to provide support to on-site teams, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.
  • Must be able to travel

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Manufacturing Sciences department, coordinating a team of scientists and engineers, and providing guidance, support, and mentorship to foster a team that consistently exhibits strong work ethics and high-quality performance.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and technologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with external partners, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines by developing and implementing robust quality systems and processes.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide technical expertise and lead investigations into manufacturing deviations, non-conformances, and customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and implementation of preventative measures.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends and evaluating their potential applications and recommending their incorporation into manufacturing processes.
