Description:
Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll posses a thorough understanding of the political and regulatory landscape. You will be responsible for enhancing SA’s relationship and influence with governments and other stakeholders, to drive positive outcomes for the community, our members, our customers and our business. The Senior Manager also contributes to content development within the Public Affairs team, by developing and editing copy for electronic and other publications.
What you’ll do
- Lead the development and implementation of the Public Affairs & Government Relations Strategy
- Identify and analyse developments at a commonwealth, state and territory level relevant to SA’s business
- Monitor the political and regulatory environment for opportunities and impacts to SA’s operations
- Proactively identify key areas of public policy that could affect or influence our work
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key Ministerial and Shadow contacts, Members of Parliament, and government departments and agencies
- Coordinate and collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the business to ensure a holistic approach to engagement
- Manage communication and correspondence with government stakeholders on company-level matters, including providing briefing notes to the Executive on key political issues affecting our business
- Provide government relations advice to the leadership team
- Manage and maintain SA’s official public policy positions and statements
- Contribute to the success of the promotion, education, communication, influence and publication of key advocacy messages and campaigns
- Produce public policy research, reports and analysis that influences, educates, engages and builds awareness of SA’s strategic priorities
- Identify and respond to relevant government inquiries and submission processes
- Represent SA at external events, including government hearings and inquiries
