QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Related Field required.
  • 10 years required, 15 years preferred of relevant experience.
  • 6 years required, 8 years preferred of ERP Inventory Management Software experience.
  • Strategic and Optimized inventory
  • Analytical data with robust KPI’s
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Lean Background
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Knowledge of Supply Chain Distribution Channel

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with inventory control, sales, engineering to develop metrics for gauging inventory levels needs and then maintaining those levels year over year.
  • Manages profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow moving stock to help offset write offs.
  • Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships, optimize inventory levels and increase service levels while reducing carrying costs.
  • Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all buyers are meeting performance standards
  • Conducts performance evaluations
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
  • Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company as needed
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly
  • Maintains inventory databases
  • Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times
  • Manages and reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies
  • Collaborates with sales, customer service, operations and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow
