POSITION SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of all products within our supply chain. This role involves coordinating with various departments, managing quality control processes, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Provide technical governance and audit capabilities to incorporate the most current knowledge across the organization. Develop and implement strategies and programs to mitigate food safety risks across the fairlifeTM network; this includes ensuring that customer requirements and regulatory changes are appropriately reflected in these programs to strengthen compliance. Raise the profile of food safety across the system and ensure food safety is embedded in the culture of the organization. Develop and maintain strong connections with external associations, The Coca-Cola Company and industry experts to continually enhance expertise for the changing landscape (regulatory, analytical, etc.). Support integration of newly acquired operations to ensure fairlife food safety standards are met. Anticipate future needs of the business and changing supply chains necessary to meet the challenges in advance of business needs.
position scope: Companywide scope including Supplier Management, Incident management and crisis prevention, Operations, and liaison with third party logistics and distribution, and TCCC (for KORE requirements) of Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, Environment and Sustainability Management
responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance:Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure product safety and compliance with industry standards. Strategically provide guidance and support by authoring governance policies applicable to the food safety and quality assurance programs for fairlife Provide consulting, technical support, and alignment with existing and additional resources to drive food safety and governance programs implemented at Coopersville, Dexter, Waco, Webster, and future operations locations.
- Incident Management and Crisis Prevention - Overseeing and managing the incident response process, ensuring the timely and effective resolution of incidents, and implementing strategies to prevent future crises. Lead post-incident reviews and implement lessons learned to enhance the incident management process.
- Risk Management: Assess potential risks in the supply chain including supply chain disruptions and quality control issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Supplier Management: Ensure suppliers meet quality, safety and environmental requirements. Ingredients, Warehouse, Destruction, Transportation and Service Suppliers impacting food safety and quality. Evaluate and monitor supplier performance, conduct audits, and ensure documentation is kept current.
- QSE Audits: Provide support to the supplier audit programs, ISO programs for continuous improvement and change management across the organization.
- Customer & Consumer Complaints Management: Ensure complaints are communicated and investigated, analyze complaint data to identify trends, prepare and present complaint reports to provide feedback to management, collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer service, quality assurance, and product development, to root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Sensory – Oversee sensory program, training and analysis to support quality assurance. sensory science, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate sensory data into actionable insights.
- Release Management & Traceability- Facilitate and provide strong functional support to the current fairlifeTM positive release program.
- Safety and sustainable practices - Provide support that the organization not only complies with safety regulations but also leads in sustainable practices, contributing to long-term success and environmental stewardship.
- Corrective Actions - Provide technical support for continuous improvement through quality escalation leadership including process deviation clearance, RCA for assignable cause, and corrective/preventive actions.
- Compliance: Ensure all products comply with local, national, and international regulations, including food safety standards.
- Training: Provide training and support to staff and suppliers on quality assurance processes and standards.
- Reporting: Prepare and present reports on quality metrics, supplier performance, and compliance issues to senior management. Contribute to the operational and quality goals of the organization
skills/qualifications required:
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Food Safety principles
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, GFSI, ISO 22000). Ability to gain understanding and facilitate alliance with KORE (Coca-Cola Requirements)
- Strong auditing/assessment/analytical skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information to various levels, influence management & enable the activities of employee teams
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer and document management skills with high proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across several groups in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Knowledge and comfort level in manufacturing operations
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 40-45 hours as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Travel 30%
