The R&D Tax Team at Azets is growing, and we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join in Scotland. We support clients of all sizes and scales, from start-ups to large corporates, and across all sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, software and digital technologies.

The opportunity

As a Senior Manager at Azets, you will have the ability and motivation needed to:

  • Manage your own portfolio and assist in the running of your section and have an input to workflow planning
  • Consistently bring opportunities and work to the Group
  • Deliver revenue and profitability targets
  • Foster enduring client relationships
  • Develop and inspire our smarter people plan

Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with the Head of Scotland and wider team (based across Scotland) to deliver exceptional client service and deliverables to our clients.
  • You will help drive our market presence and support new business opportunities through your existing network, with time dedicated to expand this and support further growth in the service line.
  • Overseeing project deliverables, ensuring they meet high standards and are completed on time.
  • Ensuring appropriate processes and infrastructure is in place to support a growing team.
  • Supporting the training and development of junior team members, shadowing on the job training and proactively identifying requirements and developing solutions as required. Ability to demonstrate breadth and depth of knowledge regarding the legislation and current landscape for R&D.
  • Where required, support in the preparation and review of R&D tax relief claims and, if experience permits, Patent Box claims.
  • In collaboration with the wider client team, your role will involve providing strategic tax advice and identifying opportunities for tax savings.
