SENIOR MANAGER SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Location -Vancouver, Canada
Ajna Cloud offer the most trusted, Salesforce compliant, multi-substrate, efficient, global scale data pipeline and real-time eventing services for all of Salesforce, at 4x9s availability.
We provide service which act as the central nervous system of the observability data pipeline within Salesforce, ensuring customers have visibility into health, performance, and availability metrics pertaining to their services. Our services power some of the most critical data processing and analytical services for both internal and external customer facing use cases
Salesforce is looking for technically strong, energetic, highly collaborative, and passionate leaders to lead our software engineering teams! As part of this role you will run and lead a team of outstanding engineers, keeping high availability and quality top of mind. We work in a collaborative environment, and we value open communication and feedback, code reviews, and making learning fun!

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • A related technical degree or equivalent industry experience required.
  • 3+ years of consistent track record leading software engineering teams with a distinguished track record on technically fast-paced projects.
  • Experience leading large-scale distributed systems, working with micro-services and/or distributed architecture.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, proactive, and comfortable working with minimal specifications.
  • Experience with short release cycles, the full software lifecycle, and working on critical services providing high availability.
  • Experience in hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers.
  • Working experience of software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies. Scrum Master experience required.
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience with one or more public cloud substrates e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Experience with container orchestration systems Kubernetes, Docker, Helios, Fleet
  • Experience with open source projects like Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Zookeeper, ElasticSearch, Splunk, Puppet, Spinnaker, Terraform
  • Cloud provisioning and infrastructure
